Dear ,
Welcome!
We are racing towards the end of the year and for many of us, thoughts turn towards gifts! Not just for friends and family but for ourselves also. For this reason I am delighted to tell you that the Snowberry travel cosmetics bag is about to be released. But this is nothing ordinary! While it is the perfect travel cosmetics bag, I am sure you will love it as a very elegant city bag or hand-held too. I think of it as a bag to cherish for a lifetime, but the 'bad' news is that it is a very limited edition. There will be just 25 each of the two kinds described below, released this year!
Speaking of gifts, one of the best that every woman can give to herself is skin care that really works. It is why Snowberry contains perhaps the largest peptide cascade of any anti-aging skincare. Read about the difference between peptides and anti-oxidants below, and you'll know why we simply do not compromise in loading Snowberry with these extraordinary bio active ingredients. People sometimes ask incidentally, why we have an eye serum when we have such a superb face serum. The fact is that Snowberry's Smoothing Eye Serum is very much designed to reduce the puffiness that can develop in mature skin around the eyes.
And one last thing, of which I am very proud - Snowberry is now a fully certified, carbon-neutral enterprise. This is at the heart of our commitment to operate in a completely sustainable way. My personal view is that we simply do not have any choice if we wish to be able to say to our children and their children, we have striven to do what is necessary to protect our world.
Kind regards

Very, very exclusive!
Designed to conveniently accommodate a typical skincare and cosmetics collection when travelling, the Snowberry bag, hand crafted in New Zealand is a superb city bag also. The bag comes in two colour options. On one the beautiful Snowberry art is embroidered onto pure New Zealand hemp in subtle but vibrant colours, and on the other in muted shades of gold, silver and bronze. Whichever of the two colour options is chosen, the embroidered hemp is complemented with Silverdust leather forming the top and sides of the bag, as well as the two comfortable handholds. Inside, the bag has secure and accessible compartments formed from pure, Royal Blue silk, all of which is conveniently removable. The Snowberry bag is distinctively 'Snowberry' but it also represents a blend of the finest materials and components from the world's best manufacturers. Please look out for a Snowberry bag in December, in one of Snowberry's perfumeries or stores (See "Store Locations" on our website). But you may need to be quick!

Why you should know about Peptides
We know that one of the main enemies of skin is the free radical. Free radicals are molecules destabilised by direct sunlight but also induced by other environmental factors and/or an unhealthy diet, that attempt to 'steal' electrons from other skin molecules, which in turn leads to cellular instability and breakdown. To counter the effect of free radicals we use anti-oxidants such as Idebenone, Vitamins A, D and E including Retinol A; and CO Q10. Anti-oxidants quickly degrade when exposed to the air or light, which is one reason Snowberry creams and serums are protected in airless pumps.
But while they help protect against cellular damage, anti-oxidants do not themselves help skin to rebuild the essential proteins collagen and elastin, without which, wrinkles become deeper and more pronounced. That is why a premium anti-aging product will contain a range of peptides. Naturally occurring in the skin, these short proteins have been discovered to act as, among other things, 'messengers' that stimulate skin cells to perform particular functions. Consequently, as aging skin produces less collagen, the ability to prompt it to make more, helps to preserve the vital intercellular matrix and so reduce wrinkling. In effect, by introducing peptides such as Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 and Tripeptide-1, the skin is 'tricked' into producing more collagen.
Other peptides are sometimes described as having a 'Botox-like' action. Pentapeptide-18 and Acetyl hexapeptide-8 are examples of peptides that act to reduce the muscular contractions responsible for the appearance of expression lines.
Some peptides have beneficial hormonal functionality. The thymus is a small organ located in the chest cavity that is responsible for producing hormones that stimulate the production of infection-fighting cells. This makes the thymus an important element in skin protection and repair. With age, the ability of the thymus to produce the hormone Thymopoietin is reduced. Peptides, such as Acetyl-Tetrapeptide-2 are designed to mimic and compensate for the natural loss of thymic factors, boosting the skin's natural immune systems and so maintaining more effective skin protection for longer.
Other key anti-aging functions for peptides are, as is accomplished with Acetyl Tetrapeptide-5, the reduction of liquid accumulation, which is invaluable in reducing puffy eye bags, and consequently makes this and similar peptides, key ingredients in an effective eye serum.
Snowberry incorporates an extraordinary cascade of 12 peptides to complement a broad range of anti-oxidants. That many brands of anti-aging skincare do not contain peptides is probably due to the fact that some peptides are simply very expensive. It may also be due to the fact that peptides are not naturally stable and in any event, are difficult to transport across the epidermal barrier into the cells and intercellular matrix where they can do good. Peptides with these desirable attributes must be carefully synthesised, which basically rules out simple extraction from natural sources for these wonderful ingredients, which also makes them unacceptable for 100% organic or natural brands. Then, the formulation in which they are contained must also include a very sophisticated delivery system such as Snowberry's liposomal encapsulation. And how well does it work? In independent clinical trials by the French dermatological institute IDEA, Snowberry's Intensive Renewal Face Serum demonstrated a remarkable 15.4% reduction in the number of wrinkles, 29.54% reduction in wrinkle surface area, 25.9% reduction in total wrinkle length, and a 10.8% reduction in average wrinkle length.
The Snowberry Smoothing Eye Serum also showed a significant effect on wrinkles at the crow's foot, and demonstrated on average a statistically significant 11.03% reduction in the number of wrinkles, 6.53% reduction in wrinkle surface area, 11.01% reduction in total wrinkle length (in a noted case 64.35% reduction in the number of wrinkles, 76.28% reduction in total wrinkle length).
As one of our valued customers recently told us, "It's just nice to know!"

 Day 28
The circles indicate comparative reference points. The images shown present an example of twice daily application of Snowberry's Intensive Renewal Face Serum around the crow's feet area, showing Day 1 and Day 28 of a clinical trial volunteer.
In this case the number of wrinkles reduced from 38 to 22 and the average wrinkle length from 22.78mm to 12.90mm

Snowberry is carbon neutral!
Everyone now knows that our world is undergoing climate change and that scientists are generally agreed that the warming of the earth's climate is due to human activity. Scientists also tell us that if this warming continues unabated, our world may change irrevocably and for the worse. At the least, we will see sea levels rise in a way that will threaten coastal communities everywhere. There are several gases that produce the so-called "Greenhouse Effect," the most common of which is carbon dioxide, mostly emitted by the burning of fossil fuels such as coal and oil in transport and industry. One of the ways we as individuals and enterprises can help to halt and hopefully decrease greenhouse gas emissions, is to measure our carbon footprint and then take active, measurable steps to reduce those emissions. When an independently audited programme is implemented so that the greenhouse gas emissions of an enterprise are mitigated by reductions and/or balanced by the purchase of offsetting carbon credits, the enterprise can be certified, 'carbon neutral.' Snowberry has now successfully completed and is implementing carboNZeroCertTM certification.

On our own plantation in Northland, Snowberry cultivates a variety of indigenous plants including the beautiful puka - a native of New Zealand's remote and uninhabited Three Kings Islands, for the special properties to be found in gum, flowers and leaves. Though principally cultivated for cosmeceutical ingredients, the trees absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere so the plantation acts as a beneficial 'carbon sink'. At this beautiful location the company also plans a state-of-the-art facility for the production of algae-based cosmeceutical ingredients, as well as bio-diesel for the company's vehicles and ancillary equipment to further enhance our carbon emissions management.
