Dear ,
Welcome!
And thank you for being so patient! As you may know, Snowberry was born late last year when I launched my range of anti-aging skincare products in New Zealand and Germany. Of course, I had intended to write much sooner but it has been such an incredibly busy time it just doesn't seem to have been possible. Anyway, I hope you are pleased to receive this very first Snowberry newsletter.
We have made many friends these past few months. It is so rewarding to receive comments such as 'I love using Snowberry...' from so many people. It is a special delight to be called by someone who wishes to tell me how their office colleagues have complimented them for the radiance of their skin, or even of how Snowberry has made scars vanish! Like this note from Hélène Ravlich, Deputy Editor & Beauty Editor of luxury magazine 'Black.'
"Hi Soraya, I decided to swap my skincare routine completely over to Snowberry after meeting you, and I have to admit that it is a truly gorgeous range. I was using a mix of other premium brands and I am very fussy, but Snowberry has lived up to all my expectations - amazing!"
This is simply lovely, but unfortunately, and to my very great dismay, I learned that some other customers experienced difficulty with the pumps of some of our creams. In fact, the pumps, which are among the very best available, on a few occasions and quite unexpectedly, did not cope with the irregular size of the particles in some of our natural ingredients - something we have since remedied. However, I really do appreciate just how frustrating that must have been and I offer again my sincerest apologies and invite you, if you have not already done so, to contact us if this has been an issue.
In this first newsletter, it is the right time too, to say a huge thank you for taking that big step of trying Snowberry. I do hope you enjoy the experience, I especially wish that you see the very special benefits I believe Snowberry offers, and I welcome your comments, questions or feedback at any time. Keep well!
Kind regards

Day creams that do much more...
Day creams are typically designed to moisturise. Snowberry's Nourishing Lite and Rich Day Creams do much more. Actively promoting skin nourishment and renewal, the Creams provide a blend of natural emollients, anti-oxidants, peptides and nutrients including essential vitamins. And where many moisturisers are perceived to be 'rich' simply because they are greasier and remain on top of the skin, Snowberry's Creams are designed to absorb quickly and easily so that they moisturise and hydrate deeply.
Really effective day creams should actively combat the free radicals engendered by UV and environmental pollutants. For Snowberry's Dr Andy Lavrent, this led to the development of a powerful cascade of anti-oxidants including Idebenone, Ubiquinone and CO-enzyme Q10 for example, supported by the UV barrier effects of coffee bean oil and red algae extract.
While the emollients and anti-oxidants hydrate and protect, it is the peptides says Dr Lavrent that are most important in helping skin to regenerate. The Hazelnut protein, just one of eleven Snowberry peptides is a very good example. This wonderful natural peptide increases collagen synthesis and stimulates the synthesis of epidermal lipids. Clinical studies show increased growth of skin keratinocytes by up to 167% and fibroblasts by up to 157%!
Skin is a very complex organ, says Soraya, "so there is no single 'miracle' ingredient." There is however, the synergy of many beneficial ingredients combined. "That is what Snowberry is."

Polypropylene v. Glass
Some people have asked us why we chose polypropylene instead of glass for our containers. Perhaps you will be interested.
First, being environmentally friendly is very important to us, so when we discovered that the carbon emission for the manufacture and recycling of glass is substantially higher, that was a telling factor.
Second, as you know, we avoid the use of parabens, choosing instead to use a natural preservative system for Snowberry products. This means that our products will not last indefinitely so choosing an airless pump, which minimises possible product contamination during use, was an obvious choice. And as it happens, airless pumps are generally only available in polypropylene.
Finally, we know that many people travel frequently and like to take their skincare with them. In that respect, just as it is in the bathroom, polypropylene is much lighter and also safer.

An icy story
Not many people (including many New Zealanders) know that there are around 3,500 glaciers in New Zealand! Most of course are small but there are some that reach from the top of the Southern Alps almost to the sea, and make much of their passage through some of the world's most beautiful rainforest. Alex Winter-Billington is the daughter of Snowberry's general manager. Alex has a special interest in environmental protection, and as her research thesis for her Masters of Science degree, she has been studying the effects of climate change on the Brewster glacier in New Zealand's South Island. Her plan is to apply her knowledge and skills in the rapidly developing field of sustainable environmental management - beginning in the UK.
